Arpita Bhattacharjee, people also call her A Ya, comes from Bangladesh. She came to China in 2017 and then studied language in Shangdong province. Now she is a sophomore of International Economics & Trade at Northwest University, Xi'an.

Studying abroad in China provides opportunities for international students to view things from a Chinese perspective. And merging the knowledge of both China and our home countries, I believe, is crucial in giving students an advantage to explore potential opportunities in China for the future.

China has become one of the most popular study destinations for international students because of its long history and exciting culture. Both living costs and school fees are comparatively inexpensive. International students can both study and save money to study in China. There are scholarships from the government, universities, foundations, and corporations designed to support international students from different academic disciplines.

I have so many friends in China, and I used to listen about Chinese food, Chinese culture and I've seen so many fantastic places pictures in their social media. These really fascinated me a lot. Finally, I chose to live in Xi'an because I found a lot of foreigners in Xi'an. I think for Xi'an international atmosphere and multicultural environment, it is the most attractive city for foreigners.

During this outbreak, I am trying to arrange my daily life nicely, because its really very tough to stay inside room randomly for me, a typically outgoing and active person. In addition to indoor activities like reading books, watching movies, playing games,  making foods, and meeting with some good friends in the same dormitory, sometimes I also walk inside the campus, my favorite one.

I see every day gatekeeper comes and sprays everywhere inside the dormitory. The school of International Education and management department of NWU is doing the best to help students in every possible way. Every morning our teachers would come to our room and check out all and ask out about our certain problems. They are really so helpful and friendly with us.

Now I have enough time to watch my favorite movies, shows, dramas on youtube. Sometimes I have a big chat with my old friends and family, sometimes I do practice my dance inside the room, sometimes I would study a bit to improve my Chinese.

After the epidemic,  I wanna start my classes and study again regularly. I want to eat Chinese hot pot, go shopping, and meet some friends outside.

I believe that with the new day comes new strength and new thoughts.  So after all the outbreak, the situation will be absolutely fine, and we will start our daily life as we had before. China, we stand for you, we are with you, Never give up. The secret of getting ahead is getting started.
