The Chamber of the Belt and Road Countries Members in Jilin & International Trade and Economic Cooperation Conference was held in Changchun, capital of Northeast China’s Jilin province, on Aug 27.

Hosted by the training center of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the council’s Jilin committee, the event was attended by around 230 people. It included representatives from companies and business associations from such countries as China, the Czech Republic, Mexico, Thailand and Jordan.

Addressing the event, Cao Yuguang, vice-president of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Jilin Committee, said that the event was a platform for Jilin province and countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative to strengthen and broaden their cooperation.

He stressed that industrial and commercial circles contributed a lot to cooperation between countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative and a focus on cooperation should be put on Jilin’s advantageous industries.

Representatives from the Czech Republic, Thailand, and Laos also promoted their competitive industries at the event, looking to expand exchanges and cooperation with other countries.

Members of the Chamber of the Belt and Road Countries will next visit places such as Meihekou and Siping in Jilin province, to promote their industries and seek economic cooperation.
