Borisov,Belarus (People's Daily) – The Chinese-Belarusian joint venture ZSAO BelGee rolled out its first Belarusian made Geely Atlas on November 17.

Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko, Chinese Ambassador to Belarus Cui Qiming and Geely President An Conghui attended the opening ceremony of the BelGee car factory (CKD) and launched the Geely Atlas NL-3 and NL-4.

BelGee is the first auto joint venture between China and Belarus. The CKD factory is a milestone of China’s Belt and Road initiative and Geely's globalization strategy.

The new factory is regarded as an achievement of Sino-Belarusian cooperation and will lead the Belarusian auto industry to a new path.

"We welcome Chinese enterprises like Geely to Belarus to deepen and broaden Chinese-Belarusian cooperation in economics and trade," President Lukashenko said.

The factory is located between Borisov and the industrial city of Zhodino and occupies 118 hectares.  It is expected to produce 60,000 cars annually and improve Belarus' car production chain. (Compiled by Chi Jingyi)
