Chinese Ambassador to Albania Zhou Ding met with President of the Albanian Red Cross Ylli Alushi to present him with the donation.

Speaking on this occasion, Zhou said the Chinese government and its people are very much concerned with consequences of the earthquake and showed solidarity with the Albanian people ever since it hit the country.

"The humanitarian donation by the RCSC once again reflects the friendship of the Chinese people towards the Albanian people," Zhou said.

He added that China will cooperate closely with the Albanian government and institutions and continue to contribute in various ways to the reconstruction in the aftermath of the earthquake.

For his part, Alushi thanked the Chinese government and the RCSC for the valuable support given to the Albanian Red Cross in these difficult days for the Albanian people.

Alushi said that the Chinese people have stood by the Albanian people in every natural disaster that has hit the country.

"We deeply appreciate the help given to the Albanian Red Cross,"said Alushi, pledging to deliver the donation to the people in need.

The RCSC's donation came after the Chinese Embassy in Albania donated on Friday relief supplies to help the 150 affected families of Farka Administrative Unit, in the suburbs of the capital city Tirana.
