JAKARTA, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's national statistics bureau said on Thursday the country's foreign tourist arrivals logged a 4.01 percent growth on a yearly basis to 7.83 million people from January to June this year.
In June, the number of foreign visitors grew 9.94 percent to 1.45 million people year-on-year, the bureau said in a statement.
Indonesia has revised the target of foreign tourist arrivals to the country this year partly due to natural disasters, Esthy Reko Astuti from the Tourism Ministry said. The target was trimmed by 2 million to 18 million by year-end.
A total of 15.8 million foreign visitors visited Indonesia last year, the bureau said.
Several places in Indonesia were struck by tsunami, earthquakes, landslides, volcano eruption and floods in recent years.
