MUSCAT, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- Oman and Britain on Thursday discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and issues of common interests, said the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Secretary-General of the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs met with Andrew Murrison, British Minister for Middle East and North Africa, in the Omani capital Muscat, as part of Murrison's visit to the region.

A statement by the Omani ministry stressed that the two sides affirmed their continued support to encourage the development of economic partnership and cultural exchange and to create more benefits.

The statement pointed out this visit comes after the signing of an agreement in March for the long-standing friendship and bilateral cooperation, which includes high-tech sectors, science, research, education and others, as well as ways to enhance communication and cooperation in various fields.

The statement added that the meeting has also exchanged views on a number of issues and developments at the regional and international levels.
