Beijing Electronic Digital Intelligence Technology (BEDI) launched an advanced AI heterogeneous computing platform on Thursday, aimed at establishing Beijing as a hub for AI innovation and application while boosting the development of China's digital economy.

This newly introduced AI heterogeneous computing platform, the first of its kind in China, will offer high-performance services in computing, integration, ecosystem development and supply.

"With the core technology of mixed-element heterogeneity, the platform can harness diverse domestic computing power to unlock its full potential across various application scenarios, achieving more efficient and cost-effective computing power supply," said Li Qian, general manager of Beijing Electronics Holding, parent company of BEDI.

To support China's strategic emerging industries, including AI, Beijing is conducting iterative verification of computing chip adaptation.

"More enterprises are encouraged to participate in the advanced iterative verification platform to accelerate the commercialization of China's computing power and establish Beijing as a benchmark city for the digital economy," said Gu Jinxu, deputy director general of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, at the launch event. The event also highlighted new opportunities, technologies, and achievements in AI and domestic chips.

As a new driving force to unlock the potential of data elements, computing power has become an important strategic resource in the digital economy era. Building moderately advanced digital infrastructure, forming a national integrated computing system, and developing the computing industry ecosystem have become crucial for guiding the high-quality development of China's computing industry.
