Singapore transport operator ComfortDelGro to operate Copenhagen Metro

SINGAPORE, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- Singapore-based transport operator ComfortDelGro Corporation, through KBH Metro Partner, its joint venture with French firm RATP Dev, has been selected to operate and maintain the Copenhagen Metro under a contract valued at 17 billion Danish kroner (2.6 billion U.S. dollars).

ComfortDelGro said in a statement on Monday that the contract covers the operation and maintenance of the fully automated network, including four lines, 44 stations and 43km of track. It will support key modernization and renewal projects planned over the coming years.

Operations are expected to commence in September 2027 under a 12-year contract, with an option to extend by a further three years.

In 2025, the Copenhagen Metro carried 135 million passengers, according to the statement.
