Data from the Bureau of Statistics shows Shaanxi's GDP reached 1831.964 billion yuan in the first three quarters of the year, an increase of 5.8%.

The provincial government has responded to pressure positively, introducing policies and measures to stabilize growth, promote investment and expand consumption.

Economic development is stable.  In the first three quarters, 347,800 new jobs were created, 94% of the annual target. In the third quarter, the registered urban unemployment rate was 3.21%, lower than the 4.5% target.

The province’s average consumer price rose by 2.5%, which was the same as that of the whole country and kept within the expected target of 3%.

Since the beginning of the year, our province has issued and implemented a number of policies for the benefit of the people, such as new regulations on individual income taxes, raising the minimum wage and labor union welfare standards. In the first three quarters, the per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents increased by 8.4% and 9.9%, respectively.

The overall agricultural production was stable, with industrial growth accelerating, the construction industry continuing to maintain double-digit growth, and the tertiary industry continued to growth steadily.

In terms of the national situation, GDP growth in the first three quarters was 6.2%, 0.1% lower than in the first half of the year, while the province was 0.4% higher than in the first half of the year. Industrial production has increased. In the first three quarters, the added value of industries above a designated size increased by 4.5% year-on-year, 1.2 percentage points higher than in the first half of the year. In particular, the added value of the equipment manufacturing industry increased by 9.1% and the high-tech industry by 10.8%, both better than the average level of industrial growth. Economic restructuring has increased. In the first three quarters, the added value of the tertiary industry in the province accounted for 0.5% of GDP, up from the same period last year. Strategic emerging industries, which play a leading role in the long-term economic development, enjoy a sustained and healthy development, accounting for 10.6% of GDP, with a year-on-year growth of 8%, 2.2 percentage points higher than GDP growth.

There are concerns about the stability of the economy, and downward pressure still exists. The profitability of industrial enterprises is not optimistic and the three major demands remain depressed.

The bureau said the economic development of Shaanxi Province is positive and the economy will maintain stable growth throughout the year.
