Paris (People's Daily) – Upon the invitation of the French government, Ji Bingxuan, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, China's top legislature, attended the opening ceremony of the inaugural Paris Peace Forum in Paris, France on Sunday.

Ji presented Chinese President Xi Jinping's book “On Persistence in Promoting the Creation of a Community of Shared Future for Mankind” to the new Peace Library, recently established by the forum.

"President Xi's proposition on building a community with a shared future for mankind has profound connotations," Ji said while explaining the concept has been praised by the international community for providing "Chinese wisdom" and "Chinese solutions" on world peace and development while contributing to global governance reform.

When visiting the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) booth, Ji said the initiative acts as a bridge for trade and cultural exchanges. BRI has opened a new chapter on mutual learning and the joint development of communities with a shared future for mankind.

"France is very welcome to join the Belt and Road Initiative and China is willing to work with France to promote new progress in bilateral cooperation," Ji emphasized.

Earlier in the day, Ji attended the commemoration ceremony of the centennial of the Armistice of the WWI organized by the French government.
