Li showed President Xi Jinping how to achieve a win-win situation between leading enterprises and farmers as a newly-elected deputy to the National People's Congress, when Xi attended the deliberation of the Inner Mongolia delegation in 2018.
She said, "At the Two Sessions last year, the President stressed the importance of promoting high-quality economic development. To realize this in the dairy industry, we need to upgrade our products and ensure the quality so that Chinese people can drink safe milk.”
For the Two Sessions this year, Li plans to suggest how Chinese food enterprises can better take advantage of the Belt and Road to go overseas.
She suggests that the relevant sectors should offer more guidance and information for enterprises to “go out” more smoothly. "Last year, our ice cream products were launched in Southeast Asia. We lacked a comprehensive understanding of local laws and regulations. In addition, the two sides had differences in quality certification standards and other aspects. This has made it difficult to promote our products.”
"Chinese products are gradually meeting international standards. Chinese brands are becoming more well-known in the international market. Yili Group will get on board the fast train of Belt and Road Initiative and make efforts to provide more domestic dairy products to the international market,” said Li.
