TIRANA, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- The number of visitors in cultural heritage institutions and sites in Albania in the second quarter of 2019 increased by 3 percent year-on-year, the National Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) reported on Tuesday.
According to INSTAT official data, in the second quarter of this year the number of visitors in museums, castles and archaeological parks reached 331,767, showing an increase of 3 percent year-on-year.
Among all the visitors in cultural heritage institutions, 103,536 visited museums, 97,446 in castles and other monuments and 130,785 in archaeological parks.
INSTAT report showed that in this period, the number of foreign visitors in museums, castles and archaeological parks registered an increase of 24.7 percent year-on-year, reaching 178,560.
Meanwhile, the number of domestic visitors in all cultural heritage institutions registered a decrease of 14.4 percent year-on-year.
