Eurozone ministers seek end to Greece bailout odyssey

Eurozone ministers will try to resolve their differences over the terms of Greece's departure from its massive bailout program.

If successful, the talks will mark an important milestone for Europe nine years after Greece stunned the world with out-of-control debt and set the scene for three bailouts and a near collapse of the euro single currency.

Germany resists debt relief the most.

It insists Athens be closely tracked on reform implementation after the program ends this summer. (AFP)

China will take US attitude in stride: MOC

China says it will take changes in US attitude in stride.

That’s according to a spokesman of the Ministry of Commerce.

The spokesman called the American government’s attitude in China-US trade conflicts “US capriciousness.”

China has vowed strong retaliatory measures to counter a US threat of an additional $200 billion in tariffs on Chinese goods. (People's Daily app)

Nepalese perform mass yoga to mark Int'l Yoga Day

Nepal holds a special mass yoga demonstration.

People from different walks of life took part despite rainfall since early morning. 

Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Ishwor Pokharel was among those who performed yoga postures in the hour-long event. 

He said the discipline of yoga helps to maintain a healthy and beautiful life. (Xinhua)

Trump signs executive order to end family separations at US border

US President Donald Trump signs an executive order aimed at ending the separation of immigrant families who illegally cross the border into the US. 

The Trump administration backed down after days of widespread criticism. 

Since the “zero tolerance” policy was launched last month, more than 2,300 children have been separated from their parents while trying to enter the US. (People's Daily app)

8th Intl Tourism Festival unveils in Gansu

Hundreds of delegates from 34 countries have arrived in Jiayuguan, Northwest China's Gansu province for the 8th Dunhuang Tour-Silk Road International Tourism Festival. 

The festival is part of the Gansu government’s efforts to boost local tourism by cooperating with countries along the Belt and Road Initiative.

Gansu is a major tourist destination in China and a cradle of Chinese civilization. (CGTN)

A UN report says countries are challenged by a fast-changing climate, conflict, inequality, persistent pockets of poverty and hunger, and rapid urbanization.

The report says the world requires technology and innovation, increased resources and political commitment to build strong data and statistical systems in all countries.
