Bangkok (People’s Daily) - Pornpetch Wichitcholchai, president of the National Legislative Assembly of Thailand, met a visiting People’s Daily delegation headed by Yang Zhenwu, president of the newspaper, in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday.

Yang introduced the major achievements of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), which was held in late October.

Yang said that the most important outcome of the congress is that it strengthened the General Secretary of CPC Central Committee Xi Jinping as the core of the Party, established Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and mapped out the blueprint of China’s future development.

He also briefed the endeavor of People’s Daily in speeding up media convergence, saying that the newspaper is committed to contributing more to the development of Sino-Thai friendship.

Speaking highly of the achievements of the 19th CPC National Congress, Pornpetch said that the congress has depicted a rosy picture for the peace and development of China and the world, and illustrated the broad political vision of the Chinese leadership.

The international community positively evaluates Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, said the Thai top legislator.

Moreover, Thailand appreciates the vision of creating a community of shared future for mankind put forward by President Xi, and is willing to participate the Belt and Road initiative, and to work hard to push forward bilateral ties.

Lü Jian, who is the Chinese Ambassador to Thailand, also participated in the meeting.
