KIEV, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- The Zakarpattia region in Western Ukraine has potential and hope for cooperation with Chinese enterprises, said Ivan Duran, the acting head of the region, on Tuesday.
"Our region is unique because it borders with four countries of the European Union and has extraordinary natural resources and a climate that suitable for tourism development," Duran said when meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Ukraine Du Wei in Uzhgorod in Western Ukraine.
"Therefore, we invite Chinese entrepreneurs to join economic projects in our country," said the acting head of the Zakarpattia regional administration.
The acting governor highlighted the potential for cooperation in the fields of airports, roads, sports facilities construction as well as tourism and recreation.
"I hope that your visit will give a push to the development of the economy of Zakarpattia and Ukraine in general," he said.
He also invited Chinese businesses to visit investment forum "Transcarpathia - Business in the Center of Europe" which will be held in Uzhgorod in October.
Du expressed gratitude for the invitations and cooperation suggestions, saying that all the information will be carefully examined.
