The livestreaming platform Kuaishou launched a more stringent "youth mode" and "anti-addiction measures" on Thursday, reminding guardians to set the youth mode in the form of a pop-up window.

As an updated version of the "parental control mode", the new mode was launched in April last year, is designed on the left-hand menu bar of the home page.

After entering this mode, teenagers cannot open live broadcasting and browse the same city pages, nor can they reward, recharge or withdraw. Users need to enter the preset independent password when opening or closing the teenager mode.

On the basis of parents' permission for children to watch, Kuaishou launched the more stringent anti-addiction tips. One is after 40 minutes of daily use; a prompt box will pop up to remind teenagers that they must to log off. Only when the guardian enters the password can they open it again. This behavior means that Kuaishou is creating a new standard of teenager Internet platform limitations. And to ensure that teenagers get enough rest, they cannot use Kuaishou from 10 pm to 6 am.

Suhua, CEO of Kuaishou, said that Kuaishou will continue to promote and improve the protection of minors through three-dimensional preventive mechanisms, hoping to continuously protect the healthy growth of minors with the help of guardians and society.
