Fortune has just announced the Businessperson of the Year 2019, in which Zhang Yong, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Alibaba Group is listed.

Why Zhang Yong? Fortune says, "Zhang Yong has a stable and low-key style of action, and he is good at speaking with results. The financial report of Alibaba Group's second-quarter fiscal year of 2020 shows that the net income has reached 10 billion US dollars, beyond analysts’ expectations. Within the first hour of the Double 11 Shopping Festival, Alibaba had orders worth $12 billion US dollars, a 22% increase over the first hour of last year."

Zhang Yong is the creator of the festival, leading Alibaba's business innovation and creating new growth opportunities for partners. During the 2019 T-mall Double 11 Shopping Festival not long ago, global brands set a new record of 268.4 billion yuan in total transactions through the Alibaba platform.

Under the leadership of Zhang Yong, Alibaba has entered the mobile era from the PC era and is moving towards the intelligent era. Now, Alibaba’s digital economy continues to bring structural new growth dividends to businesses and ecological partners around the world.

It is reported that Fortune first reviewed the 10 financial indicators such as return on equity and return on invested capital when selecting people of the year, and selected companies that achieved fruitful results based on the above indicators. Later, outstanding leaders who dared to set ambitious goals, overcome difficulties and find creative solutions were selected, and finally the 20 business people of the year.
