Asia-based airlines dominated the top 10 rankings for best cabin cleanliness, with seven of the top 10 coming from the region, according to a report by Skytrax, an UK-based aviation research and service consultancy.

China's EVA Air, Cathay Pacific Airlines and Hainan Airlines took the second, sixth and ninth spots, respectively. Japan's ANA All Nippon Airways topped the list as the cleanest airlines in the world.

Passengers were asked to rate the standards and quality for aircraft cabin cleanliness, with seat areas, tables, carpets, cabin panels and washrooms all contributing to the final results, Skytrax said.

The report also awarded airlines for cabin cleanliness by regions, including South African Airways in Africa, Air New Zealand in Australia and Pacific, Swiss International Airlines in Europe, Air Canada in North America, Azul Airlines in South America and Qatar Airways in the Middle East.

Skytrax publishes rankings for the world's airlines and airports and is highly recognized by industry players and passengers around the world.
