Beijing offers financial policies to offset outbreak impact

Beijing’s municipal government rolled out 19 policies for individuals and enterprises on Monday to fight the coronavirus outbreak.

According to the government document, financial institutions are encouraged to provide more favorable services for people, including: relevant workers in the front line of the prevention and treatment of coronavirus outbreak, people quarantined or patients under treatment, and people who temporarily lost their source of income due to the outbreak. The due date to pay off their housing mortgages and credit-card bills can be extended in relevant cases.

The document also stated that the government will support enterprises in the production of supplies needed to fight the outbreak and help renew loans for enterprises undergoing temporary operational difficulties due to the outbreak. Meanwhile, the government will give moderate fiscal subsidies to leasing enterprises that adopt measures to reduce rent.
