American aviation giant Boeing has appointed Sherry Carbary as the president of Boeing China, the company announced on Thursday.

The former vice president of Flight Services at Boeing Commercial will be the first female leader of Boeing's China branch. According to Boeing, the appointment shows that the company sees promise in China's market, which is expected to become the largest civil aviation market in the world.

Sherry will be taking over from John Bruns, who has been appointed vice president of Commercial Sales in India and Southeast Asia.
