Starting from Nov. 22, the recall will involve the second generation of home-made Mazda CX-5 models manufactured between Aug. 8, 2017 and July 2, 2019, according to a statement on the website of the State Administration for Market Regulation.
Defective parts in the fuel pumps of the recalled vehicles may lead to fuel disruption and unintended engine stop in extreme cases, said the administration.
Changan Mazda has promised to replace the faulty components free of charge to eliminate safety hazards.
