KIGALI, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- 2019 China Brand Show (Rwanda) and Chongqing Export Commodities (Africa) Itinerant Exhibition kicked off Monday in Rwandan's capital city Kigali.

The three-day show, sponsored by China's Ministry of Commerce and organized, aims to establish a platform with Rwanda and other neighboring countries to promote economic and trade exchanges between China and Rwanda.

Twenty-first Chinese companies from western China's Chongqing municipality and northern China's Tianjin municipality bring their high-quality products to the show including mechanical equipment, automobile and spare parts, hardware tools, building materials, electronic products, food and beverage and agricultural products.

A trade and business promotion forum was held as part of the event, where companies and officials from China and Rwanda, representatives of Private Sector Federation of Rwanda attended.

The show and the forum will help Rwandan companies and consumers know more about Chinese goods, and promote diversification of bilateral trade and joint venture projects, said Philip Lucky, head of investment department of the Rwanda Development Board.

According to him, Rwanda's trade-related policies favor trading with the outside world and China, and China is one of Rwanda's top trading partners.

Products like cars and generators exhibited at the show are suitable for Rwanda's conditions and meet the needs of Rwanda, said Wang Jiaxin, economic and commercial counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Rwanda.

As Rwanda is making great efforts to attract investment from outside, the show could help Rwanda find out suitable products and industries that could be introduced into Rwanda and provide the central African country potential investment opportunities, he said.
