CHONGQING, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality saw its motorcycle exports up 52.3 percent year on year to reach 2.39 million units in the first seven months, official statistics showed.
The exports value of motorcycles of the city, dubbed as "the capital of motorcycles," hit 8.33 billion yuan (about 1.29 billion U.S. dollars), up 58.7 percent year on year, according to the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce.
Xu Xincheng, deputy director of the commission, said that the local government will support enterprises in machinery and electronic products such as motorcycles to expand the international market through online and offline fairs and cross-border e-commerce.
In 2020, Chongqing, a major motorcycle manufacturing base of China, exported 3.34 million motorcycles with an export value of 11 billion yuan. Its motorcycles and parts have been exported to nearly 200 countries and regions.
