China's courier industry No.1 for 6 consecutive years

China's delivery business volume and business revenue in 2019 are expected to reach 63 billion parcels and 745 billion yuan ($107 billion), respectively, a year-on-year increase of 24 percent and 23 percent. The express delivery business ranked first in the world for six consecutive years, according to the State Post Bureau (SPB).

“Last year is the 10th anniversary of the implementation of the revised Postal Law of the People's Republic of China. The amendment and implementation of the Postal Law is an important milestone in the reform and development of China's postal industry,” said Ma Junsheng, head of the SPB.

In the past 10 years, China has built the world's largest postal service system, and the coverage rate of township express outlets has reached 96.6 percent. Postal revenue and total business increased by 7.8 times and 14.1 times, respectively. The average annual growth rates of the revenue and business volume of the express delivery business reached 31.6 percent and 42.2 percent, respectively.
