China's CPI and PPI up 2.5 pct and 3.6 pct respectively in September

BEIJING, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) - China's consumer price index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation, rose 2.5 percent year on year in September, compared with 2.3 percent for August, the National Bureau of Statistics said Tuesday.

China's producer price index, which measures costs for goods at the factory gate, rose 3.6 percent year on year in September.
The growth slowed from the 4.1-percent gain in August.
