The report concluded that the quality and efficiency of development steadily improved, and that the current Sino-US trade friction has a limited impact on China's foreign trade.

Besides reviews on China's foreign trade operations in the first three quarters of 2018, the report also provided an outlook of China's foreign trade in 2018 and 2019.

The rapid growth of trade in the first three quarters provided strong support throughout the year. However, the high import and export base in the fourth quarter of 2017 will have an adverse impact on the growth of imports and exports in the fourth quarter of 2018, the report added.

Meanwhile, China faces morer severe and complex challenges in foreign trade in 2019, and the downside risks of the world economy are emerging. More supportive policies will be implemented, reducing the burden on import and export enterprises, it said.
