China's foreign trade up 4.3% in the first four months

China's foreign trade in the first four months of the year reached 9.51 trillion yuan ($1.41 trillion), up 4.3 percent year-on-year, according to customs data. 

Exports increased by 5.7 percent to 5.06 trillion yuan, while imports rose by 2.9 percent to 4.45 trillion yuan, the General Administration of Customs said.

Trade surplus rose by 31.8 percent to 618.17 billion yuan during this period.

The foreign trade of goods in April climbed by 6.5 percent to 2.51 trillion yuan. Exports reached 1.3 trillion, up 3.1 percent, while imports increased by 10.3 percent to 1.21 trillion. The trade surplus shrunk by 43.8 percent year on year to 93.57 billion.
