China's GAC Motor displays innovative models in its debut at Paris Motor Show

PARIS, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- GAC Motor, China's leading auto maker, on Tuesday had marked its debut in international motor show in Paris by displaying the all-new SUV GS5.

According to the group, it eyes the European market by presenting "its latest high-end vehicle, a particularly powerful model with a trendy style and advanced security features."

"The GAC group came with GS5, the new GAC Motor SUV and with Enverge, a new low-energy car concept. We hope to present new GAC products, new technologies, and ideas for building a future of mobility," said Zeng Qinghong, CEO of GAC group.

Developed by GAC Motor's research and development centers in Canton, Shanghai and the United States, the new SUV GS5 targets both young driver sand families.

It offers "unique driving and exceptional handling that meets the needs of consumers" thanks to art and innovation technologies, according to the Chinese manufacturer.

With the best-seller GS4, the high-end SUV GS8, the first minivan GM8 and sedan GA4, GAC Motor illustrated "China's impressive car manufacturing know-how" and innovative and creative development.

GAC was established in 2008 and "is positioned in a high-end market and favors quality and innovation," it said.

In 2017, it recorded 37.2 percent rise in sales at 508,600 units. It targets to increase the figure to 1 million units in 2020.

Paris Motor Show, a biennial industry gathering, opened its doors to media on Tuesday and will receive visitors on Oct. 4.

Over 1 million professionals and visitors are expected to take part in the 11-day exhibition, which takes place in Paris expo Porte de Versailles.
