China's gaming industry sees rapid growth in 2019

China's gaming revenue exceeded 310 billion yuan this year, an increase of 10.6 percent, according to a research report, Economic Daily reported on Dec. 19.

The revenue of China's mobile gaming industry reached 151.37 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13 percent.

The revenue of China's gaming industry from overseas markets totaled $11.19 billion, up 16.7 percent year-on-year.

China-developed mobile games grew faster in the U.S., Japan, South Korea, the U.K. and Germany, than homegrown games in those countries, enjoying certain advantages overseas.

The value of the e-sports industry has reached 96.96 billion yuan, an increase of 16.2 percent.

Innovation is a highlight in the development of the gaming industry. Nearly 75 percent of the top 250 games have used innovation of some kind in their development.
