The flights were mainly from southwest, central and southern China to first-tier cities of Guangzhou, Shenzhen and east China.

Meanwhile, a total of 2,079 international flights had been carried out from Feb 1 to 23, the airline said.

The airline has made proper arrangements for flights, crews and other resources to ensure transport capacity while keeping a close eye on the changes of various countries' entry policies for international flights.

The company has also set up "green channels" for medical personnel and epidemic control supplies, as well as bringing back passengers stranded overseas amid the battle against the novel coronavirus.

By Sunday, the company, including Xiamen Airlines, had transported 12,519 medical workers and about 615 tons of anti-epidemic supplies through 113 fights, and brought 2,696 stranded passengers back home with 15 chartered flights.
