BEIJING, June 21 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed higher on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.5 percent, at 3,001.98 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.87 percent higher at 9,214.27 points.
