BEIJING, March 24 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 2.34 percent, at 2,722.44 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 2.37 percent higher at 9,921.68 points.
