BEIJING, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) - Chinese stocks closed lower on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.06 percent to close at 3,217.53 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.42 percent lower at 12,760.93 points. 

The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.75 percent to close at 2,521.25 points Monday.
