BEIJING, May 13 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 1.21 percent, at 2,903.71 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.43 percent lower at 9,103.36 points.
