Chinese shares close lower Thursday

BEIJING, March 26 (Xinhua) -- Major Chinese stock indices ended lower across the board Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.6 percent, at 2,764.91 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.84 percent lower at 10,155.36 points.

The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 642.5 billion yuan (about 90.9 billion U.S. dollars), shrinking from 751.3 billion yuan the previous trading day.

Losers outnumbered gainers by 390 to 1,071 on the Shanghai bourse and 565 to 1,587 in Shenzhen.
Stocks in the extra-high-voltage, data center and network slicing sectors led the losses, with shares of the Rockontrol Technology Group Co., Ltd. losing by the daily limit of 10 percent to end at 95.95 yuan apiece.
Meanwhile, shares related to agriculture, medical equipment and flu sectors were among the gainers.
The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.55 percent to close at 1,927.28 points.
