BEIJING, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.09 percent, at 3,573.84 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.19 percent lower at 14,765.56 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 1.15 trillion yuan (about 180 billion U.S. dollars), remaining unchanged from that on the previous trading day.
Shares related to metaverse, photovoltaic industry and wind power led the losses, while those in the auto sector posted strong performance, bucking the downward trend.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.19 percent to close at 3,466.91 points Thursday.
