BEIJING, April 6 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.04 percent, at 3,482.97 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.28 percent lower at 14,083.34 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 660.2 billion yuan (about 100.7 billion U.S. dollars), down from 716.7 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares related to carbon neutrality and cloud gaming saw strong performances, while those related to tourism and liquor sector led the losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.72 percent to close at 2,831.6 points.
