BEIJING, June 15 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.92 percent, at 3,556.56 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.86 percent lower at 14,673.34 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 1 trillion yuan (about 156.1 billion U.S. dollars), down from 1.12 trillion yuan the previous trading day.
Shares related to LED and semiconductor led the gains, while shares related to textiles led the losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, lost 1.1 percent to close at 3,262.19 points.
