BEIJING, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) - Chinese stocks closed lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 1 percent at 2,955.43 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.43 percent lower at 9,671.06 points. 

The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, lost 1.3 percent to close at 1,672.65 points Wednesday.
