BEIJING, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed mixed on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.33 percent, at 3,715.37 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.45 percent lower at 14,705.83 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 1.46 trillion yuan, down from 1.54 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares related to coal, pesticide and fertilizer, and environmental protection posted strong performances, while stocks in the sectors of electronic devices, hotel and tourism, and aircraft manufacturing led the losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, lost 1.17 percent to close at 3,194.27 points Monday.
