BEIJING, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed mixed Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.23 percent, at 2,878.12 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.31 percent higher at 9,687.95 points.

The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.10 percent to close at 1,673.78 points Wednesday.
The ChiNext Index, together with the Shenzhen Component Index and the Shenzhen SME (small and medium-sized enterprises) Board Index, reflects the performance of stocks listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
