BEIJING, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) - China's major stock indices ended higher in the morning session Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index ending 0.59 percent higher at 3,101.98 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index gained 1.24 percent to end at 10,788.72 at midday.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, went up 1.97 percent to 1,872.16 points in the morning session Monday.
