BEIJING, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- China's major stock indices ended higher in the morning session Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index ending 1.38 percent higher at 3,014.73 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index edged up 1.32 percent to end at 9,794.37 points at midday.
