BEIJING, April 30 (Xinhua) - China's major stock indices ended higher in the morning session Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index ending 1.3 percent higher at 2,859.21 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index rose 2 percent to end at 10,724.90 points at midday.  

The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, rose 1.89 percent to 2,068.91 points in the morning session Thursday.
