BEIJING, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) - China's major stock indices ended higher in the morning session Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.9 percent at 3,409.48 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index gained 1.49 percent to end at 14,178.16 points at midday.

The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, went up 2.98 percent to 2,896.69 points in the morning session Wednesday.
