Chinese shares lower at midday Friday

BEIJING, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- China's major stock indices ended lower in the morning session Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index ending 3.37 percent lower at 2,890.56 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index lost 4.44 percent to end at 11,021.72 at midday.

The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, went down 5.03 percent to 2,086.24 points in the morning session Friday.
The ChiNext Index, together with the Shenzhen Component Index and the Shenzhen SME (small and medium-sized enterprises) Board Index, reflects the performance of stocks listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
