BEIJING, April 8 (Xinhua) - China's major stock indices ended lower in the morning session Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.31 percent to 2,811.88 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index went down 0.59 percent to end at 10,367.52 points at midday.

The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, went down 0.37 percent to 1,962.58 points in the morning session Wednesday.
