BEIJING, May 20 (Xinhua) -- China's major stock indices ended lower in the morning session Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index ending 0.45 percent lower at 2,885.54 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index went down 0.6 percent to end at 10,986.44 points at midday.
