Chinese shares open higher Monday

BEIJING, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks opened higher on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.22 percent to open at 2,964.58 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index opened 0.27 percent higher at 9,828.6 points.

The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, was up 0.15 percent to open at 1,689.58 points Monday.

The ChiNext Index, together with the Shenzhen Component Index and the Shenzhen SME (small and medium-sized enterprises) Board Index, reflects the performance of stocks listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
