TOKYO, March 17 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar changed hands around the 109.03 yen level in early deals in Tokyo on Wednesday.

As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted as 109.03-04 yen compared with 108.95-109.05 yen in New York and 109.25-26 yen at 5 p.m. on Tuesday in Tokyo.

The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1900-1904 dollars and 129.77-81 yen against 1.1897-1907 dollars and 129.70-80 yen in New York and 1.1916-1917 dollars and 130.19-23 yen in late Tuesday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
